Here is the vocabulary list of common public service words.
French Vocabulary Student List
Here is a list of common tricks and traps to watch for:
-  Words that have similar pronunciations but different meanings or spellings. This is common with verb conjugations.
- Verbs that do not match the subject (e.g., je, tu, il/elle/on, etc.) with the right conjugation.
- The grammar exam gets harder the further in you go. The last 10 questions will be the hardest so leave enough time to complete these by doing the earlier questions quicker.
- Anglicisms (words the seem like they would have the same meaning in French and English) are common. Watch for these on our vocabulary list and in the questions. Most need to be memorized.
- Irregular verbs appear frequently. Memorize them. These include: avoir, pouvoir, voir, prendre, aller, dire, and faire.
- The VANDERTRAMP verb rule applies. Many relate to motion as a quick way to remember them. A quick google search can give you a list to print out if you do not have one already.
